The Swimming Cygnet

Sarah swam in her school inter-house swimming meet in the beginning of March and did very well. Her times qualified her for the Northern Primary School Champs in Henderson in March and she was selected to represent her school at these champs which was very exciting.

Her school does not have a swimming pool (they're in the process of saving for an aquatic centre) so doing swimming at school is not an option, but New Zealand kids who are keen on swimming tend to swim for a club, so we decided to take Sarah for an assessment at a club here in Auckland (it's the number 1 club in NZ and has many Commonwealth and Olympic swimmers). She got in and now trains 3 times a week at a gorgeous pool in our neighbourhood and they do regular swimming meets within the club and against other clubs. She's getting such great coaching, stroke correction and fitness training - it almost makes up for the early morning training on Saturdays!
