Our First Visitors

Woo Hoo! We've reached a milestone, you guys. Our first visitors! And us newbies got to show them this country. Quite bizarre how the tables have turned. In the past, when we'd been here on holiday, we were the ones being entertained and taken around to see all the sights. And now, having lived here for almost a year, we're the ones doing the entertaining and showing others this gorgeous place. This is just another step on our immigration journey, I guess.

So anyway, that's the reason why I haven't been posting much lately. We've just been so busy catching up with them and showing them the sights that there hasn't been much time left to write.

Grant's parents arrived at the end of October and spent most of their time with us, in and around Auckland; with a trip to visit friends down in Christchurch for a week.

We did the usual touristy outings, but they also got to spend lots of time just joining in the daily routine around here, like going to watch swimming lessons and gymnastics training, doing grocery shopping and filling up with petrol. Some of us weren't on holiday! Hahahaha! But I think they had a wonderful time and there were some very heavy hearts when they left on Saturday.

Over the course of the coming weeks, I'll be doing lots of catch-up posting, showing you what we've been up to over the past month.

  1. It's always good to have people you love come to visit, but when they leave it hurts fresh again.

  3. Absolutely. We have two sets of friends coming for Christmas and New Year. And my dad and step mom are coming in February. So there's lots to look forward to in the coming months. Yay! And then we'll see who comes over for the Rugby World Cup!

  4. I agree, Grant, saying goodbye hurts! There are so many of us that are in the same boat! That's why skype is a lifeline! Love to read your blogs Bianca.
