A Happy Heart

You Da One by Rihanna on Grooveshark

Today was a good day. One of those family days that feels like a delightful dream.

We got things done. Chatted and played. Laughed. Danced. Gathered for meals in between.

We got the Christmas tree and decorations out from the basement storage and Grant assembled the tree. The kids and I decorated it. And we managed to do all that with only one small argument. I kid you not. Just that one.

Luke did a nativity puzzle, I retrieved our little nativity scene and made a place for it next to the fireplace; and I put up some lights.

We stuck up some photos, tidied things away, sorted things out. The kids even did some packing for our trip.

All this while it rained outside. Rain just seems to make being indoors extra cozy, doesn't it?

Also, Jessica made a poster, Sarah made a music video and Luke made some paper money - and roped Grant into a scavenger hunt.

We unpacked the dishwasher 210 times.

And, the day wouldn't be complete without the obligatory folding of some laundry, now would it?

So..., all in all... nothing earth shatteringly awesome, really.

But somehow? To me?

It came so very close to perfect.
