Dancing On A Stormy Night

It's that time of year again... the formal dance week at school... and Sarah had her one last night.

Before she could start getting ready yesterday afternoon however, she had to play a water polo game - a bit of a bummer really, seeing that she had to look gorgeous and have dry hair just a couple of hours later, but it was a final and they were playing off for 3rd and 4th so it was an important one that could not be missed. Time was tight, though {we had an appointment at the hairdresser soon after the game}, and then it got even tighter when the game ended in a draw and they had to play not one, but two sudden death sessions to have a winner! Nail-biting stuff. In the end it was all worth it, though - because they won! - placing them 3rd in the A division! :) We then dashed out of there only to sit in a huge traffic jam caused by that crazy stormy weather we had yesterday! Stress!

Anyway, she eventually got to the dance {looking totally gorgeous under a huge umbrella held by Grant} and enjoyed a fun night of doing the cha-cha, waltz and foxtrot at the "Great Gatsby" themed formal, while the storm raged on outside. All memories of the frenetic afternoon quickly disappeared and she had a wonderful time dancing and laughing with her friends.

^ It was indoor photographs this year, owing to the foul weather. ^

Every year I wish that I could get additional photos of the girls when they are inside the dance venue, but with all the excitement of seeing their friends dressed up, and the ooh-ing and ahh-ing that goes on when they arrive, by the time you've whipped out your camera, your chances of getting a photo disappear right there with them, into the crowd.

We've had a break tonight and then tomorrow night it's Jessica's turn to dress up and enjoy her night of dancing. More on that in the next few days.

Hope you're all having a lovely week out there.
