A Day of Shopping and Eating

So yesterday, after having a slow morning getting over some travel fatigue, we went to the LA Farmers Market for brunch, before spending the rest of the day shopping at The Grove.

For those of you who don't know, the Farmers Market is a permanent market that houses hundreds of food vendors, eateries and food and produce stalls. It is open 7 days a week and is a big tourist attraction in Los Angeles. We loved it.

Sarah chose a frozen strawberry lemonade and a short stack of pancakes (she only managed to finish one of those beauties, though).

And I opted for the cheese and bacon omelette with a hash brown and a bagel. Again, I only got through about half of that big meal. It was good, though. :)

Fed and watered, we made our way out into The Grove, a gorgeous outdoor shopping strip right next to the Farmers Market.

There is a cute trolley/tram that links the Farmers Market and The Grove:

And then the shopping (window and otherwise) began.

The girls went off shopping together while Grant took Luke in search of boy stuff. Because patience. And different interests. ;)

And when the "my legs are so sore" moaning got louder and more insistent, we called it a day and went back to our hotel to freshen up before dinner.

America, we're loving you so far. :) Your sunny weather, your delicious figs, your friendly people, your crazy highways and your blue skies.

Next up: dinner on the Santa Monica pier.
