October 2016 Little Things

In the beginning of October this year, Grant and I went to an Ellie Goulding concert at Vector Arena. We've seen her perform here in Auckland before but had booked her show again because her opening act was going to be Years and Years and we were dying to see them! Anyway, sadly Y&Y pulled out about a month before the show! 😢  But we still went and we're so glad we did because Ellie Goulding has definitely upped her game and her show was even better than the one we'd been to before.

October 2016 was also the month when Sarah's U16A North Harbour team won GOLD at Nationals. They compete against all the best teams from all around New Zealand during this tournament and the level of water polo is so good. Every member of that North Harbour U16A team is in the New Zealand National Team squad - so it's an awesome little team! So proud of my girl. And all of her teammates.

And here are the two Sarahs after Nationals 2016. (These friends play for different clubs and came up against each other during the tournament.)

My Sarah's U16A North Harbour team had another brilliant year of water polo this year. Their team won Pan Pacs (the international tournament held in New Zealand every two years) and Nationals this year! And those girls played their hearts out and delivered the most amazing performances throughout the season. It was so exciting to watch them play.

And then, when Nationals was finished, we grabbed our suitcases and hopped on a plane and made the most of the last week of the school holidays. Water polo tournaments and trainings take place pretty much every school holiday, so when you can find a few days to get away, boy, you grab that chance with both hands. :)

We jetted off to a place that I'd wanted to visit for quite some time. It's been on my 'list' for ages and I was so excited to eventually be getting there. Next post: our trip to the Great Barrier Reef...
