A Visit to Devonport

View from Devonport: Cruise liners in Auckland harbour.

View from Devonport: Ship at the naval base.

View of Auckland city and the Sky Tower from Devonport.

View from a few paces away: My dad and Anne.

An Americas Cup beauty. Note seagull in picture. Totally planned. Hahaha.

This is a photo that just had to be taken.

These are a few photos I took while my dad and Anne were here in February. One morning we took a short drive down to Devonport and had a little walk around the waterfront area there.

Devonport is a very quaint little North Shore village/suburb, which has a ferry terminal and some magnificent views across to the city.

It also boasts some gorgeous playgrounds for kids, lovely grassed areas and a busy main road with lots of restaurants, cafes and unique stores. On another visit, I wandered around a couple of great bookshops - one modern and the other, The Devonport Vintage Book Shop. There are also some good little gift shops.

The Devonport Food, Wine & Music Festival is apparently a great annual event... which we seem to have missed for two years running now! We always mean to go, but just don't seem to get it together! Oh well, maybe next year.
