March 2019 Little Things

So here's everything we got up to during March...

50th Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Shelley's 50th at the beginning of the month - it was such fun to party with her that weekend. Read all about our weekend in Melbourne in my post OVER HERE.

We also had a visitor in March - the son of some old Cape Town friends who live in London, is on his OE (Overseas Experience) and was travelling around New Zealand so he came to stay with us for two nights.

We took him to the Gannet colony in Muriwai on one of the days he was here. The weather wasn't brilliant and most of the gannets aren't around at the moment, but the kids still had a quick swim and we walked to see the remaining gannets perched on their rocks.

We also took him down to the Viaduct for dinner on his last night and had a walk around while it was still light out.

And check it out - Auckland also has a fence with locks on it now!

Also in March: Four of us water polo moms got together for lunch and a good catch up now that our girls have finished school and started Uni. It was lovely to see everyone again and chat about life. We miss all those times we spent together on the stands while our girls were playing their hearts out in games in the pool below. Sadly I didn't get a photo that day (I really need to get better at remembering!)

It's also birthday month for our family in March. My mom and dad celebrated at the beginning of March and my stepdad and stepmom celebrated at the end.

We also visited Gibbs Farm in March - and you can read all about that IN THIS POST.

Other excitement was that my sister and her family got a puppy! And OMGoodness she is a ball of cuteness. I popped in to meet her during the week and then took my kids back to meet her on the weekend - can't get enough of that sweet little munchkin.

We also had a fun night out last weekend - we went for dinner locally and then headed off to watch the Blues play the Stormers at Eden Park. I was reminded of how important and awesome it is to go out with our older kids now that they're so busy with their own lives.

Grant and I like to organise a movie night or dinner out every now and then - just to reconnect with our kids outside of our home.

The boys hit a few balls at one of these outdoor table tennis tables after our dinner, just before we headed off to the game.

And that was March. Over and out. xx
